Five.

IMG_0544Sometimes I really do worry when I purchase clothing based on how comfy they are. Believe me, i’ve walked away with some freaky yet oh-so-snuggly pieces in the past. I realised the error of my ways after attempting to justify ‘lounge pants’ to my friends once. The other day however, I found this denim smock dress in the Topshop sale. Not ideal for those hot-boddied ladies who want to show off their figures, Its so loose fitting and comfortable in this weather. The oversized look also gives the illusion of skinny sometimes/ a childlike appearance- clearly i’m sold!

IMG_0559To add to my comfort-quest, I’ve popped my newly beloved Arabel boots on with the dress. They’re great when teamed with dresses in this clammy dull weather. Also noteworthy this week is the absolute joy of Miss Sporty nail varnishes. Like an absolute sucker, I was hopelessly sucked in to the Models Own colours, but after one tragic incident with some of their blotchy ‘scratch-n-sniff’ range (ew) i’ve moved on. Miss Sporty sell their colours at £1.99 (or 3 for £5) which is great for those colours that you’re not too sure about. This china blue colour is a lot brighter than pictured, but it dries in seconds and has lasted well for over a week! I’m so happy with the Miss Sporty line, but I must ask, are there any other good nail polish brands out there?

IMG_9348IYA SUMMER. I cannot express how much I’m enjoying this sunshine. I’ve turned all typical Brit on myself in peeling the layers off as quickly as I could. My most recent purchases are two which are very hard to style for everyday-wear (hence why i’ve snapped these pics in my garden hehe) The first is this gorgeous River Island Kimono. I adore the intricate detail and purchased it mainly for my summer holidays as a beachwear cover up. I’ve also found that on these warm summery mornings that its actually great for wearing as a dressing gown.

This fringed kimono will also (hopefully) see me through festival season (by that I mean one) as it’s pretty nifty teamed with shorts and ever faithful cowboy boots. Another only-acceptable-at-a-festival accessory comes in the form of my hair garland. These seem to be pretty big this summer, and I absolutely love how girlie they are. I’m not really feeling brave enough to strut my floral-clad headwear through the streets back home yet, so the cheap and cheerful Primark options are really best for just a couple of uses. What are your star buys for this summer? I feel this old wardrobe needs a little/ big overhaul soon, and i’m in pursuit of COLOURS.
